I have a lot to say. Most of it nonsense. None of it relevant to anything. But I write because I love to write. And until that changes, I'll post my nonsense here for all to read.

Focus! The Other Kind

Meg and I put some of our hard-earned rent dollars to use tonight by spending an hour at the pool. It's a very nice pool. Especially when you have it all to yourself.

But I'm not here to talk about pools. Or rent dollars.

Why am I here? No one knows, really.

Oh, I remember. So Rebekah wrote this blog about not being able to focus. I don't really know why.

Yeah but I'm not writing about that either.

I'm just here to tout a new video I posted on MySpace. First some background: I am a member of an 11-person class at USF that puts on a 90-second newsbreak for WUSF, a public station whose broadcasting license I'm pretty sure is owned by the university.

Anyway, it's a 90-second newsbreak we air five days a week for 10 or 12 weeks so that our anchors and reporters have something for their résumé tape when they graduate in December. Point being, as with any news show, we have a short open that begins every show.

This semester we just redesigned it. Or I did. With input from some other people. It's decent on the grand scale yet a radical improvement over its predecessor. You can find it in my Videos if you're interested enough to spend the 10 seconds watching it. Comment if you feel it's warranted.

Mostly, I wanted us to get past the old boring, annoying one and a reason to play with my new Final Cut Pro. Yeah, mostly the Final Cut thing.

This is the part where I explain the title of this post. The news show we produce is called Florida Focus. Ah, yes and it all comes into... wait for it... focus. People, this is good stuff. You don't know what you're missing.

Our "season premiere" if you will is Monday in the neighborhood of 5:20 to 5:35 PM. Enjoy it. If you miss it, I'll probably post it on MySpace. You don't have to watch it, though.

It's not like it's Studio 60 or something.

And finally... to Rebekah: hang in there, you'll figure it out. But if you don't, at least find a way to keep me out of the loop.

Was that harsh? I apologize.

Or do I?

I do. Sleep well all.

(To whom it may concern: Please ask MySpace Blogs to stop asking me my mood. Either be more human and figure it out or just a lot less nosy.)
